Fr. Mark S. Bialek, Pastor

Rev. Mark S. Bialek, Pastor was born and raised in Baltimore, where he attended Shrine of the Little Flower grade school.  After attending Archbishop Curley High School, he was accepted into the priestly formation program for the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1997, and earned his Bachelor’s in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Scranton and St. Pius X College Seminary in 2001.  After completion of the Master of Divinity program at St. Mary’s Seminary, Fr. Mark was ordained to the priesthood at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen by  William Cardinal Keeler on June 24, 2006.  

    
Upon ordination, Fr. Mark was assigned to St. Joseph Church, Fullerton, where he served for three years as Associate Pastor from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2009.  He then moved to Harford County and Saint Ignatius, Hickory where he served from July 1, 2009 to September 30, 2010.  Fr. Mark was appointed Temporary Administrator of Saint Mark, Fallston from October 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010.  Fr. Mark was appointed as Administrator of Resurrection of the Lord here in Laurel on January 1, 2011.  He was appointed Pastor by Archbishop William Lori on July 1, 2012.  Email


Jose L. Gabin, Deacon

Jose L. Gabin, Deacon

Deacon Jose L. Gabin was born and raised in Puerto Rico from Dominican parents. He moved to the Washington-Baltimore area in 1986 and is currently living in Hanover, Maryland. He was accepted into the deaconate program at Saint Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland in 2009 and was ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Baltimore at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen by Archbishop William Lori in May 2013. He was assigned to Resurrection parish in July 2013 where he was an active member between 1998 and 2007. Deacon Jose has "returned home" to serve the faithful community of this parish. In addition, he has a bachelors degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the University of the District of Columbia and a Masters of Science in Telecommunications Management from the University of Maryland College Park. He is married to Joseline Castanos and has two daughters, Isabel and Raquel. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and also like baseball and dancing. Email


Deacon Larry Teixeira was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts into a family of seven children; He is the fifth in the pecking order. Both his parents are Portuguese and both sets of grandparents emigrated from the island of Madeira.  He has been married to his wife, Harriett, for 38 years.  They have two sons and one grandson. Deacon Larry was ordained to the Diaconate by Cardinal William Keeler in 1992.  For his first assignment, he served at St. Louis Church in Clarksville from 1992 to 2002.  From 2002 to 2003 he was the Pastoral Associate at St. Paul’s Church in Ellicott City and from 2003 to 2015 he was the Pastoral Life Director (PLD) at two Churches, St. Francis of Assisi in Brunswick and St. Mary Church in Petersville. He graduated “Cum Laude” from the University of Maryland, University College with a Behavioral Science Degree (Psychology and Sociology) his Minor was in Criminal Justice and was inducted into the National Honor Society, “Alpha Sigma Lambda” prior to his graduation.  He attended Loyola University and received his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling.  He has been trained in crisis counseling through the “International Critical Stress Foundation and was a Board Member for ten years for this organization.

He is a retired police officer after 30 years of service. During his first five years, he served at the Herndon-Fairfax County Police Depart and 25 years with the Howard County Police Department (HCPD). He was awarded the following medals as a police officer: The Medal Honor; The Medal of Valor; The Bronze Medal; and four Unit Citations.  As a police officer he spent time as a Patrol Officer, a Child Abuse Detective, a K-9 Officer, a Detective in the Youth Division; and a Police Academy Instructor for both HCPD Police Academy and for Police Corps which was a Regional Police Academy sponsored by the Federal Government.

He currently serves as the Associate State Chaplain for the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and is one of the Police Chaplains for HCPD. In his spare time he enjoys reading and taking trips. Email


Michael Langlois, Director of Music

Michael Langlois, Director of Music

Mike Langlois, Director of Music Ministries came to Resurrection in July 2014 and oversees the music program. In addition to his position here, he teaches piano at Cardon Studios (Washington, DC), serves as Assistant Director of Kolot HaLev, is Artistic Director of Ensemble Deburau, and plays in the morning Shabbat ensemble at Adas Israel. He holds a Bachelor of Music (piano) from Indiana University and a Master of Music (collaborative piano) from the University of Maryland, and continues his studies at UMD in pursuit of the Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano. He can be often heard in performance with his wife, mezzo-soprano Tanya Ruth Langlois. He is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, studying languages, and playing board games. Shaun Guevarra, Pastoral Associate

Shaun Guevarra, Pastoral Associate

Mr. Shaun Guevarra, Pastoral Associate joins us to support Adult and Young Adult Faith Formation and oversee the Teen Ministry and Confirmation preparation courses. He has worked with pastoral formation development through Couples for Christ and their Young Adult Group. Shaun works part time with the parish with office hours on Mon, Tues and Thurs but is usually around in the evening for faith formation programs. Currently, Shaun is continuing is development and training on Blessed John Paul II's Theology of the Body and has been completing certification for these set of courses. He also enjoys working with ChristLife programs in various parishes in the metro DC and metro Baltimore area. He is married to his lovely bride Donna and has a mixed background of Canadian and Filipino. Shaun has served on pastoral council for several years and is an officer in the Knights of Columbus local council. His interests include painting, knitting and enjoying the outdoors. He likes to read up on early Church Fathers and saints and would love to stop and chat about ideas and ways to improve our adult faith formation in our parish community. Email

D. Scott Miller, Director of Faith Formation has been serving in Church ministry all his life. Scott is a dad of three and a grandfather for two. Scott has served in parish, school, diocesan, and national settings, most recently as the Director of the Division of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and Director of Membership Services for the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry in Washington, DC. Email


Donna McGehee, Business Manager

Donna McGehee, Business Manager

Donna McGehee, Business Manager began her ministry at Resurrection as the Administrative Assistant for Finance and Development and has now taken on the role of overseeing the day to day operations of the parish.  Donna has over 20 years of financial service, leadership, audit and supervisory experience.  Prior to graduating from the University of MD, University College, Donna first attended two years at Frostburg University and one year abroad at the College of St. Marks and St. Johns in Plymouth, England.  After spending summers backpacking through Great Britain and Europe, she returned to Maryland where she met her husband, Roger, married and raised two sons, Patrick and Tyler.  Like her mother and grandmother before her, Donna is a lifetime resident of Laurel.  Donna joined Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in 1990 and has served as a volunteer for many years on various committees.  Her personal interests include card marking, scrap booking, sewing, quilting, needlework, stained glass, collecting green cats and volunteering weekly at a local cat shelter. Lino Deras, Maintenance Supervisor

Lino Deras, Maintinence Supervisor was born in the beautiful country of El Salvador but came to America in 1978 to avoid the violence and death of the civil war.  Settling in the state of Florida he enrolled and attended the local High School.  After graduating High School, he attended the local community college taking various courses such as law enforcement, mathematics and wood working.  Excelling in woodworking, Lino joined the Capital Woodworking Corporation working for them for over ten years.  During these years Lino met and married his wife, Maria. Lino has one daughter who is a third grade teacher in Riverside, California.  He and Maria have two sons who live with them in Laurel, MD where they have been residents for over twenty years.  Lino and Maria have been involved in the church for most of their lives and have been registered parishioners here at Resurrection of Our Lord since 1989.   His hobbies include, sports, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, helping others and spending time with his beautiful family. 


Diana Lucio, Bilingual Administrative Assistant


Diana Lucio, Bilingual Administrative Assistant was born in Maryland and comes from a Mexican-American descent. She has been serving in the church for many years and officially became a member of Resurrection in 2006, then joined our parish staff after graduating Laurel High School. After high school, she received an Associate's degree while attending Prince George Community College. She then received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College in 2015. During her college time, she married her high school love, Nelson. She and Nelson started to grow their family in 2014 with their beautiful son Fabian. Her interests consist of dancing, baking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.  Email


Donna Lynch, Bulletin Editor

 

Donna Lynch, Bulletin Editor has thought of Resurrection as her home parish for almost 25 years and enjoys being a part of the Resurrection community. Her diverse career includes twelve years of full-time motherhood, during which she has been a catechist and volunteer, fourteen years in corporate America, and five years with the U.S. government. Donna’s formal education included four years in England at Schiller International University and catholic school at La Reine High School. Her pastimes include being a spectator of her children in their extra-curricular activities, reading and learning more about our catholic faith, and sewing. Email


Linda Giamellaro, Social Justice/Hall Rentals

 

Linda Giamellaro, Social Justice/Hall Rentals came to Resurrection in 2009, and since then has been an active member in our parish as a Pastoral Council Member, and a Hispanic Leader Advisory Member. She is the Social Justice Ministry Coordinator, and oversees the parish hall rental. Linda is bilingual and was raised in Puerto Rico.  She has 3 children and is retired after 25 years of Federal Government service. Linda enjoys cooking, singing, dancing and helping other people.   Email
